Britains Deetail WWII German Infantry - Pt 3 Series 1 Figure No. 609

During the '70's, generally speaking, if you wanted detailed hand-painted 'Little Green Army Men' your options were very limited unless you did your own figure painting. Marx had their 60mm 'Warriors of The World' (WoW) series but it was severely limited in the number of poses available per subject, and Marx went belly up around 1975 anyway. If you were into, let's say, the American Civil War, then you got maybe +/-10 figures which included both Union and Confederate. Britains offered more poses from opposing sides, they were in the more popular 54mm scale, and they weren't horribly expensive (they are now but hey, it's nearly 40 years later). I've been using Kent Sprecher's excellent site "Toy Soldier HQ" (see link on right sidebar) to identify the figures, years, numbering system, etc. Here's Series 1 No. 609. Enjoy!
