Japan - TT Boeing 727 Pan Am Jetliner

Not every plane in my collection is military. I did manage to pick up a couple of airliner's along the way. The one featured today on Toys & Stuff is a nifty little tin-litho plane measuring 10" (25.4cm) L 3 3/8" (8.6cm) H with a 9 3/8" (23.8cm) wingspan. The 727's first flight was in 1963 and it had become an immediate success breaking all previous sales records for a mid-sized commercial jet liner. This record would last until the 1990s. The airplane was a success with airlines all over the world so it's no wonder that toy companies would capitalize on this. Our example is made by the Japanese firm of 'TT' and sports a bright nickle plated body with Pan American (Pan Am) Airlines markings. I believe the 'TT' brand is the logo of Takotoku Toys which was active in the 1970s-80s. In any case it's a cool plane! Enjoy!
